This painting is about becoming who you are, beyond where you began.

The black-and-white vase represents structure, origin and the environment that shaped us. It symbolizes the beliefs, expectations and circumstances we inherit long before we are old enough to choose them for ourselves.

From that foundation, life unfolds.

An explosion of color emerges from the vase, growing far beyond its boundaries. Vibrant flowers and a striking bird rise from a world that appears monochrome, reminding us that our beginnings do not define our limits.

The bird symbolizes individuality and the courage to follow one’s own path. It does not reject where it came from. Instead, it transforms it into something uniquely its own. Its presence speaks of freedom, self-discovery and the decision to become more than what was expected.

Dit schilderij gaat over worden wie je bent, voorbij waar je begonnen bent.

De zwart-witte vaas staat symbool voor structuur, afkomst en de omgeving die ons heeft gevormd. Zij vertegenwoordigt de overtuigingen, verwachtingen en omstandigheden die we meekrijgen, lang voordat we zelf kunnen kiezen wie we willen zijn.

Vanuit dat fundament ontvouwt het leven zich.

Een explosie van kleur groeit uit de vaas en reikt ver voorbij haar grenzen. Kleurrijke bloemen en een opvallende vogel ontstaan uit een wereld die op het eerste gezicht zwart-wit lijkt. Samen herinneren zij ons eraan dat onze oorsprong niet onze bestemming hoeft te zijn.

De vogel symboliseert individualiteit en de moed om een eigen pad te kiezen. Hij keert zich niet af van waar hij vandaan komt. In plaats daarvan maakt hij er iets nieuws van, iets dat volledig van hemzelf is.
