'And Gentleman'

This painting celebrates being a woman.

Dit schilderij viert het vrouw zijn.
Het vrouwelijke feestje dat ontstaat
wanneer vrouwen samenkomen,
wanneer lachen vanzelf gaat
en woorden soms niet eens nodig zijn.
Het vangt dat gevoel van sisterhood,
van diepe vriendschappen
waarin je jezelf mag zijn
en je gedragen voelt door elkaar.

'And Gentleman gaat over verbondenheid.
Over avonden vol gesprekken,
gedeelde herinneringen
en dat ene berichtje aan het einde van de nacht,
“app je als je thuis bent?”,
een klein zinnetje vol zorg, liefde
en onzichtbare draden tussen harten.

Maar dit schilderij is ook een ode aan balans.
Aan het vieren van vrouwen
zonder mannen uit te sluiten.
Want vrouwelijkheid kan niet volledig stralen
zonder de liefde, zachtheid en kracht van mannen.
Hun aanwezigheid, hun steun,
hun manier van liefhebben
